1. The Collaborative Curriculum Design Tool (CCDT)

The CCDT is an online tool that you can use to
plan your curriculum using the any of the teaching frameworks described in the ALPS
site. You can create unit designs by yourself or by using the build in features of
collaboration you can design with a colleague or team of colleagues in your
school, school district, or around the state, country, or world.

2. The Starting Block Activity
|
|
Getting ready to learn is powerful critical thinking move to
make when learning about a new topic. People rarely come to a learning situation, like
learning about teaching thinking for example, without any prior thoughts or questions.
The Starting Block, which is part of the Thinking Classroom region, helps you shape your
questions and preliminary ideas into an active readiness to learn about the teaching of thinking.

aspects of their present or future lives

4. The ALPS Kick-Off Activity
|
|
The ALPS site is as expansive in scope as it is deep with
content. If you are new to ALPS, you may want to do the Kick-Off Activity to get a sense
of the rich pedagogical terrain covered in ALPS, as well as give us a sense how well we
presented and guided you through it. The activity also gives you a chance to actively
engage some of the ideas introduced in ALPS site right away. It also help focus your visit to
the ALPS site by allowing you to identify areas of interest and burning questions for your
exploration.

5. Reflection Spaces

e draw conclusions everyday from our
experiences. Are our conclusions reasonable and helpful to us as we plan future
experiences? One way to find out is to reflect on our conclusions, on our actions and
on our thoughts in order to assess our own growth and development
|

6. An Interactive Look at Understanding
|
|
Explore understanding from an interactive perspective-one that
asks you to reflect on, and share your own personal experiences. This is a
set of questions about understanding that we have asked people all over
the world. As you read through them, we hope you'll take the time to answer
the questions for yourself before comparing what you came up with to what
others have shared during workshops..
