The human mind is truly remarkable. Not only are we amazing learning machines, capable of making decisions, and solving problems, we also have the ability to stand back and reflect on our own thinking. This section provides you with the unique opportunity to self-critique your lessons and evolving conceptions of teaching thinking…on-line! You will be able to stand back and review what's important to you about teaching thinking. The Learning by Thinking Ahead (Reflect & Connect) section also is designed to invite you to identify and understand your own learning tendencies and preferences - such understanding provides vision for further learning and professional development.

How to Use the Reflect & Connect Section

  1. Use this section to reflect on your thoughts and ideas after completing the lesson or project you developed to deepen your understanding of the teaching of thinking

  2. Use this section to connect and apply new insights, observations, or discoveries to other facets or dimensions of your regular instruction.

  3. Use this section to anticipate new lines of inquiry and to re-focus your educational vision for teaching your students.
