Summary Teacher's Guide The Unit in Action
Students observe an environment of their choosing for two weeks then recreate it in a terrarium or aquarium. By creating, maintaining and observing their mini environment for eight weeks, students learn about the water, oxygen and nitrogen cycles. The teacher challenges students throughout and students need to read several books to support and reflect upon their learning. They also keep journals.
