The Water Quality Project Boston Latin Academy, Boston, Massachusetts, USA Boston Standards In the Boston Public Schools, all students are required to complete Grade 9 Integrated Science. Students are then required to complete two additional years of science and can choose from biology, chemistry, or physics. The Citywide Learning Standards for the Boston Public Schools are general descriptions of what every student in the Boston Public Schools will know and be able to do in order to pass each subject, be promoted to the next grade each year, and graduate from high school.
The Citywide Learning Standards for the Boston Public Schools lists the following Key Standards for Science - Grade 12:
The Curriculum Frameworks for each subject area taught in the Boston Public Schools describe key objectives, products, tasks, and tests that students will complete, and key questions they will answer, to show that they have the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the Learning Standards. They include student tasks that are designed to be shared with parents at home. As part of the Boston Public Schools High School Chemistry Curriculum Framework, Water is one content objective to be developed around the key question "What is Water Quality?" The Water Quality unit accomplishes this content objective and all of the Key Standards for Science described in the Boston Public Schools Citywide Learning Standards.
