The Learning Center is a place to learn how to improve Teaching for Understanding with new technologies and to use the resources in this web site. It includes a self-guided Orientation Activity to show you how the Education with New Technologies web site addresses your interests.

We will develop additional learning activities--including on-line workshops, courses, and tailored tutorials--in response to requests from members of the ENT community. Let us know what you want by posting to the "Site Feedback" forum in the Meeting Hall.

Orientation Activity
The ORIENTATION ACTIVITY is a 5-10 minute tour of the web site tailored to show you how to use this community to answer your own questions. It's a quick way to learn:
  • more about the site,
  • useful tools and resources to help your students learn, and
  • how to integrate new technologies more effectively.

Get oriented!

Online Course
Teaching to Standards with New Technology
Using new technologies and teaching to curriculum standards are often viewed as competing initiatives. This course treats them as complementary innovations. You will develop a unit on a topic related to your curriculum standards. The course applies the Teaching for Understanding framework to focus curriculum, assessment, and the use of technology on development of students' understanding.
