Privacy Statement for Education with New Technologies

Education with New Technologies Community has created this statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following discloses our practice for gathering and disseminating information for this site.

We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, obtain counts of the number of visitors, and to administer our Web site. We use cookies to deliver content specific to your interests and to save your password for the duration of your site visit so that you don't have to re-enter it each time you enter a protected area.

Note: As soon as you close your browser all ENT cookies are removed from your system.

Our site's registration form asks members to give us contact information (like their e-mail address) and demographic information (like their geographical location). We use member contact information from the registration form to send the members periodic updates via e-mail and also to allow us to tailor site information to their needs. Members may opt out of receiving future mailings; see below.

Search Engines

Member profiles, forum discussions, member curriculum designs and other Backpack information are hidden from Internet search engines such as AltaVista, Lycos etc and are available only to the site administrators and members with the appropriate user id and password.

Opt Out

Our site provides members the opportunity to opt out of receiving communications from us as part of our registration process. To opt out of mailings select "Never Update Me" on the registration form upon registration or via the "User Profile" option in your "Backpack" once registered. To remove yourself from ENT completely send e-mail to the site manager at alpswebmaster@gse.harvard.edu

Delete/Deactivate

Registered members who wish to delete their membership and no longer receive our service should send e-mail to the site manager at alpswebmaster@gse.harvard.edu requesting removal.

This site allows members to change or modify information previously provided. To do so visit http://learnweb.harvard.edu/ENT and use the "User Profile" option in the "Backpack" tool.
